Key Features & Amenities

Weatherwood was built in the 1700s and has the charm (and quirks) of its age. The original stairs to the second floor are safe but steep and may not be ideal for those with mobility concerns or very young children. Some ceilings and doorways are low, and the floors may creak—but that’s part of the charm! The home has modern heating and cooling, though temperatures can vary a bit from room to room. If you love historic character, you'll feel right at home. Please consider these details before booking,

Why Weatherwood?

Weatherwood Cottage draws its name from the very timbers that define it: wood weathered by centuries of Cape Cod storms, sea air, and changing seasons. Each grain and mark tells a quiet story of resilience; of enduring hardship and growing stronger with time.

Nestled within the historic landscape of Cape Cod, this lovingly preserved home stands as both a sanctuary and a symbol: weathered yet steadfast, inviting guests to slow down, reflect, and find strength in its enduring charm. Weatherwood stands as both a haven and a reminder: that there is quiet beauty in resilience, and grace to be found in all that endures.

Who We Are

Hello! We are Samantha and Reid, photographers, designers, and the caretakers behind Weatherwood Cottage. Drawn to the quiet charm and storied past of Cape Cod, we fell in love with this historic home and set out to restore it with care.

Adventurers at heart, we love exploring new places, meeting new people, and making lasting memories with our loved ones. We’ve poured that same spirit into creating Weatherwood Cottage: a relaxing, thoughtfully designed retreat where every detail tells a story. Our hope is that guests feel inspired, at ease, and truly at home here, just as we do.

"We had the most wonderful stay in this charming historic Cape Cod home! The house is beautifully maintained, full of character, and incredibly comfortable. The location was perfect. It is so accessible and made it easy to drive to surrounding areas we wanted to explore on the Cape. The spacious layout was ideal! We had a group of 6 adults, a toddler, and our dog, giving everyone plenty of room to relax and have their own space while still fostering quality time spent together in common areas! The yard is gorgeous and created such a peaceful environment for family time too. We felt so happy and at home here, and we would absolutely love to return. Highly recommend experiencing the magic of this place!"

Perhaps my favorite stay ever! Every detail was so beautifully curated, from the antique furniture to the beautiful dishware and serveware and all the little thoughtful touches throughout. The location was also so great with a 5-minute walk to the lake and less than 10-minute drive to the beach. The cottage has everything you could ever need, Samantha & Reid truly thought of everything. I wish I could move in!

This was an absolute dream rental! The decor and charm kept everything feeling cozy and authentic to the historic aspect of the cottage! Reid and Samantha have done an incredible job of ensuring their guests would feel right at home! Their kitchen is well stocked with quality pots/pans and they’ve thought through anything you might need during your stay! Couldn’t recommend enough.

We had such a wonderful stay at this property! The location is unbeatable and the home is filled with charm at every turn. As fellow hosts with over a decade in the STR business, and decorators, we can confidently say the hosts have done an incredible job balancing the character of this historic home with thoughtful modern amenities. Every detail felt intentional, and even the historic quirks only added to the charm. Truly a memorable stay—we’d highly recommend it! The yard is just as dreamy and did we mention that the entire stay is a Kodak moment. No matter your reason for visiting the Cape, this is a location you won’t want to pass up. We will most certainly be back.
